Lupitas Mexican in Key West

I've eaten here with every visit to Key West and never have been disappointed. So sad to hear that this is their last month before closing. Give their other restaurant near Daytona a chance.

Not authentic at all. Rice was stale. The dishes they claimed were spicy, were not spicy at all. We asked for spicy tomateo sauce, they were out. The salsa was watered down and sweet. They add 18% tip to parties of 4 or more.

Good decent (American) Mexican food. Prices are Great for the Keys, and there's a Lunch Menu which is less even still!! The Only reason I gave 4 out of 5 Stars is the portions are small, compared to what I'm use to, and we had to pay extra for 2nd small basket of corn chips for dipping in Salsa. Had to pay extra for line slices (asked for 🍋 lemons) lost in translation, ha ! I am use to Always getting Salsa & chips with the table, plus a bag to go!! So, we'll visit again. I gave Lupita's 3 stars only because of the good service and their Pastor mexican street taco.Prices are high, portions are small.$13.95 3 street tacos, 1/2c rice&beans (for those unfamiliar, street tacos are 3 small bites each)$2.50 for an extra very small basket of chips and jarred salsa.$3 per small street taco.Beans and rice are both flavorless and beans were watery. My urge was to go to the back of the house and start cooking.Being on a small island... I guess this is what is afforded to us.
